The Bubbleman--Tuesday, June 22, 2 pm. Ron Loyd has thrilled audiences for more than 20 years with his cube bubbles, double merry-go-round bubbles, smoke filled bubbles—even bubbles inside of bubbles! See his amazing creations and learn a few secrets along the way.

WILLIAMSTON:

All Ages--June 5–Aug. 4, Digital Photography Contest: A Day on the Banks of the Red Cedar (All ages). What does a day along the bank of the Red Cedar in Williamston look like? Beginning Friday, June 5, submit your 8” x 10” photo matted to 11” x 14” (altered or traditional). This year we will have two separate categories: teens/adults (ages 14 & up) and kids (ages 6-13). Library patrons will judge the works and a prize will be given to the winner in each category in August. We will exhibit all the entered photos for the entire summer. Prizes sponsored by the Friends of the Williamston library.

Ulysses, the Frisbee Dog--Wednesday, June 30, 10:30 am. Who let the dogs out? The Flying Aces Pro Frisbee Team! Founder Brian Hayes will be here with Ulysses for an amazing assortment of Frisbee tricks, plus the history of Frisbees and a lesson in dog training. This program generously sponsored by the Friends of the Williamston library.

TEENS/TWEENS:

Teen Tuesdays--Tuesday, June 15, 22, 29, 3 pm. Cool down in the events room where we will alternate between classic teen films and Wii gaming. We meet every Tuesday through Aug. 3.

Summer Reading Program: “Make a Splash” and join us for tons of water activities all summer long at the Fowlerville District Library. Sign-up going on now. Register in person at the library! Space is limited in each group.

Ages 1-3 meets every Tuesday, June 22-July 27 at 10 or 11 am (Party Day is August 4 @ 11 am)

Ages 4-5 meets every Wednesday, June 23-August 4 at 10-10:30 am

Ages 6-8 meets every Wednesday, June 23-August 4 at 11-11:30 am

Combined groups: Ages 4-8 meets every Wednesday, June 23-August 4 at 3-3:30 pm, 4-4:30 pm,* or 5:30-6 pm (* note: 4-4:30 pm time has been opened up to include 4-8 year olds, instead of just 4-5 year olds)

Ages 9-11 meets every Tuesday or Wednesday, June 22-August 3 at 1:30-2:30 pm

Ages 12-18 meets every Tuesday, June 22-August 3 at 3-4 pm

Adult programs meet the last Thursday of the month from 6-8 pm

Weekly programs will have storytimes, crafts, songs, and activities. Pick up a flyer at the library for complete information. In addition to weekly programs, all summer there will be chances to win tons of prizes for reading books, including Visa gift cards, restaurant gift certificates, books, movie passes, water games, and much more. Pick up your reading log at any of the events or at the library after our Party in the Park kickoff on Saturday, June 19. The reading log will contain all the instructions for your reading program, specifically designed for each age group. Program will also include special visits from Amazing Clark (all ages meet @ 10 am on Wednesday, June 23), Acting Up Theatre Company performers (all ages meet @ 5:30 pm on Wednesday, July 14), and an end of summer reading party (all ages meet @ 11 am on Wednesday, August 4). Even if you can't participate in the events, you can get reading incentives all summer for reading books! Must be registered to attend. Limited space available, so please sign-up early.

Party in the Park: Saturday, June 19: noon – 2 pm. All Ages- Join us for our 3rd annual Party in the Park Kickoff event for our “Make a Splash” Summer Reading Program. Enjoy a Moonbounce on “Bounce Bay,” tons of games on “Game Island,” crafts in “Craft Cove,” face painting and balloon animals on “The Boardwalk,” and much more! If you want a lunch, PJ’s Hot Dogs will be selling food. Must be registered for our Summer Reading Program to attend (which you can do at the library or the event itself). Space is limited.

“Oceans in Motion” Special Event: Wednesday, June 23 at 10 am. Amazing Clark will bring fun activities to give kids a hands-on look at ocean life. All ages welcome. Must be registered for our “Make a Splash” Summer Reading Program, which you can do at the Fowlerville District Library. Limited space available. Bring a blanket to sit on.

Summer Smoothies Event: Thursday, June 24 from 6-8 pm. Adults and older teens are welcome to join us for one of our Summer “Water Your Mind” events. We’ll be making and sampling smoothies featuring lots of different fruits, vegetables, and chocolate. Feel free to bring tips or your own favorite summer recipes to share. All supplies provided. Stay to play Wii games for adults and board games! Get entry into Summer Reading Program drawing just for showing up. Register at the library, space is limited.

“Fish Tank Follies” Comedy Show--Wednesday, July 14 at 5:30 pm. All ages welcome. Acting Up Theatre Company will be performing an interactive comedy show featuring a talent show by the Comedian Clownfish “Clownie,” the singing Diva Starfish "Star," the daredevil goldfish Goldie McCrazygills, Hermie the Hermit Crab, and more. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to help the show start on time. Bring a blanket to sit on. Event is part of the “Make a Splash” Summer Reading Program. Register at the Fowlerville District Library.
