Volunteer Opportunities Available – The athletic department is looking for volunteers to help with ticket taking, scoreboard, and announcing during the upcoming basketball and wrestling season. Zumba Class – Zumba classes are offered every Monday and Wednesday night in the cheer room located upstairs in the Spartan Center. The class starts at 7:00PM and the cost is $6.00 per class. (The Thursday night class will no longer be offered)

Killer Core Exercise Class – A ladies core exercise class is offered every Thursday at 7:00PM in the Spartan Center. The class meets in the cheer room and is free to high school girls and $3 for ladies out of high school! Bring an exercise ball and hand weights if you have them, or some will be available for use.

Junior Garden Club – The next meeting of the Webberville Junior Garden Club with be Tuesday, February 14th at 3:00PM.

Spartan Spirit Wear – Are you looking to stock up on Spartan spirit wear? You can now design your own t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags and more and have them shipped directly to your home. Visit the “Spartans Store” by going to the Athletic Information page on the district website and look for the store logo. Every purchase you make helps the district earn money for the athletic department. Go Spartans!

College Goal Sunday – Seniors and their parents are invited to attend “College Goal Sunday” on Sunday, February 12th. The event is held at the LCC West Campus, 5708 Cornerstone Drive, Lansing from 2:00PM – 4:00PM. If you are filing the FAFSA for college financial aid, you will get free assistance with filing the application when you attend this event.

Spartan Center Fitness Center Closed – The fitness center will be closed on Wednesday, November 24th and Thursday, November 25th for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Zumba Class in the Spartan Center – Come be a part of the latest fitness craze…Zumba! Zumba is a fun and energetic dance/exercise class and you don’t have to have any experience to join in! Classes are held in the cheer/dance room in the Spartan Center on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 7:00PM-8:00PM. The cost of the class is $6.00 per class. Please sign-in and pay in the fitness center. 

 

 

WEBBERVILLE ELEMENTARY NEWS


Family Movie Night – The Elementary Boosters will be hosting Family Movie Night on Friday, November 5th. Come to the multipurpose room with your family and friends to watch a great movie, eat some popcorn and spend some fun time together. The movie starts at 7:00PM and popcorn and the movie are free! Bring your own beverage and a canned food item to donate to the food bank.

3rd Grade Concert – The third grade will be presenting the musical “Dinostars!” on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:00PM in the middle school gym.

After School Tutors Needed - The elementary staff invites you to join them for an hour on Tuesdays and/or Thurs­days from 3:00 until 4:00 to help ener­getic, friendly and lovable children be successful. Middle and high school students, parents, business members or any community members are welcome! No experience is necessary and all training and materials will be provided. If you have questions please call Webberville Elementary at 521-3071.

Box Tops Being Collected – The Elementary Boosters are collecting Box Tops, Spartan UPC’s, Coke caps and Campbell labels. This is an easy way to support the school and feed the family at the same time! Please bring in your items to donate, or get involved by helping with the rebate program. Webberville Secondary News

Fall Sports Recognition Night – The Fall Sports Recognition Night will be held on Wednesday, November 10th at 7:00PM in the HS cafeteria. Parents and students are invited to attend to recognize those who were involved in the fall athletic teams.

Winter Sports Picture Day – Team and individual sports pictures will be taken on Thursday, November 18th after school in the Spartan Center gym. Picture order forms will be handed out by the coaches.

HS Musical – Join the high school musical theater class as they present the school version of “Grease” on Thursday, November 18th, Friday, November 19th and Saturday, November 20th at 7:00PM. The performances will take place in the secondary cafeteria. Tickets will be available for purchase in the office and at the door.

End of First Quarter – The end of the first quarter for secondary students is Friday, November 5th. Please make sure that you are checking Powerschool and working with your student to get all assignments turned in before the quarter ends and grades are calculated.

Senior Composite and Yearbook Picture Requirements - Composite pictures must be submitted to the yearbook staff by November 14, 2010. Digital images are preferred in tiff or jpeg format, CMYK at 300dpi. Pictures must be: wallet size, vertical format facing forward - eyes should face forward, color, head and shoulders pose, traditional blue/gray background –no outdoors shots, no hands, no identification marks can appear on photo, head size must be 1.5 inches from the hair to chin line.

Secondary Choir Concert – Join the 6th- 12th grade choirs as they put on their first concert of the year on Wednesday, October 27th at 7:00PM.

 

Middle School Halloween Bash - The Middle School will host a “Halloween Bash, 2010,” on Friday, October 29, from 3:15 to 5:00 P.M. (right after school) for students in grades 6 through 8.  We will have games, a costume contest, pumpkin decorating, music, food, and more!    Cost for the Bash is $2.00 per person.  Students may wear costumes to the Bash.  We ask that costumes not be violent in nature (no axe murderers, etc.) and not include masks, but face painting is acceptable.

Picture Retakes–Elementary students will have the opportunity for pictures retakes on Wednesday, October 27th.

Awards Assembly–The October awards assembly will be on Thursday, October 28th at 2:00PM in the elementary gym.

Halloween Parade and Parties–The elementary school will hold its annual Halloween Parade on Friday, October 29th. The parade leaves from the elementary school around noon and makes its way down Grand River and back to the school. After the parade individual classroom will hold their class parties. Guidelines for costumes: No blood, no weapons, make-up & hair color is allowed and will be applied before the parade.

Webberville High School adding activities to homecoming festivities PDF Print E-mail

The Webberville High School Student Council is attempting to get the school and community more involved in the Homecoming festivities.  The student council is planning more activities during the week of Homecoming and has invited both the school clubs and community groups the opportunity to participate in the homecoming parade and the tailgate party.

The Homecoming activities include:

Monday, September 20--Float building begins

Monday, October 11--Class wall decoration activity 3:15p.m.- 6:15p.m.  (Bring supplies to decorate your wall in the Café)  

Senior wall – South wall (Big empty wall)

Junior hall – West wall (Stage)

Sophomore hall – North wall (Serving Line wall)

Freshmen hall – East Hall (Trophy Wall)

Monday, October 11--Decade Day- Dress in your favorite decade clothes Float prep 3:15 –9:45 P.M.
