Parent/Teacher Conferences – Conferences for all grades will take place on Wednesday, October 20th, and Thursday, October 21st from 4:00PM – 7:00PM. Morning conferences will take place on Friday, October 22nd from 9:00AM – 12:00PM. There is no school on Friday, October 22nd.


FFA Chicken Cam – The FFA is raising 250 chickens that will be for sale in the future. Watch the chicken’s eat and grow by watching them on the Chicken Cam! You can access it by clicking on the link on the homepage of the district website.

Picture Retakes – Elementary students will have the opportunity for pictures retakes on Wednesday, October 27th.

Webberville Star Fun Run – The Elementary Boosters are sponsoring the first annual Webberville Star Fun Run on Friday, October 15th! The fun run will promote fitness, families, and fun as it raises money for the school. All students from preschool – fifth grade are asked to get pledges from families and friends. The day of the fun run, students will come together on the north field for the event. Students who raise over $25 will win a special Webberville Star t-shirt and be eligible for more prizes based on their pledge total. 100% of the money raised will go toward Booster programs and supporting the school!

After School Tutors Needed - The elementary staff invites you to join them for an hour on Tuesdays and/or Thurs­days from 3:00 until 4:00 to help ener­getic, friendly and lovable children be successful. Middle and high school students, parents, business members or any community members are welcome! No experience is necessary and all training and materials will be provided. If you have questions please call Webberville Elementary at 521-3071.

Box Tops Being Collected – The Elementary Boosters are collecting Box Tops, Spartan UPC’s, Coke caps and Campbell labels. This is an easy way to support the school and feed the family at the same time! Please bring in your items to donate, or get involved by helping with the rebate program. If you are willing to help, call the office at 521-3071 ext: 200.

Newspaper Collection – The Elementary Boosters will collect newspapers on Friday, October 29th. Simply leave your bagged newspapers at the outside the front entrance of the elementary building and they will be collected.

  

WEBBERVILLE SECONDARY NEWS


Homecoming Spirit Week – Spirit week will be Monday, October 11th – Friday, October 15th. The theme of homecoming is “Decades.” The spirit days are: Monday – Decade Day, dress in clothes from your favorite decade; Tuesday – Tacky Tuesday, dress in your tackiest clothes; Wednesday – Class Color Day; Thursday – Blue and Gold Day; Friday – Purposefully Pink Day – wear pink in support of the fight against breast cancer. The football game against Dryden will take place at 7:00PM on Friday, October 15th, preceded by the homecoming parade and tailgate. All details can be found on the district homepage.

Powder Puff Football Game – The Powder Puff football game will take place on Wednesday, October 13th at 6:30PM on the football field. Students who want to play should have their permission slip turned in to Mrs. Scifers ASAP. The cost is $1.00 or $5.00 for a family.

Parade and Tailgate Party – The homecoming parade starts at 5:30PM from the fire hall. Immediately following the parade there will be a tailgate party inside the gates of the football field. There will be a variety of food items for sale. Come and cheer the Spartans on to victory!

Homecoming Dance – The dance will take place on Saturday, October 16th from 7:30PM – 11:00PM. The dance is for students in grades 9 – 12. Homecoming court pictures will take place at 7:45PM. Tickets are on sale at the high school and cost $10 each.

PSAT/NMSQT – Students who are interested in taking the PSAT should talk to Ms. Vassilakos in the counseling office. The test will be on Wednesday, October 13th at 8:00AM in the middle school gym. The cost is $18 and the check should be made out to Webberville Community Schools.

Senior Composite and Yearbook Picture Requirements - Composite pictures must be submitted to the yearbook staff by November 14, 2010. Digital images are preferred in tiff or jpeg format, CMYK at 300dpi. Pictures must be: wallet size, vertical format facing forward - eyes should face forward, color, head and shoulders pose, traditional blue/gray background –no outdoors shots, no hands, no identification marks can appear on photo, head size must be 1.5 inches from the hair to chin line.
